Making The Waterford your new home is the first step to a better lifestyle. If you are undecided, know that many residents were also hesitant to make a change, but later said they were glad they did and wish they had done it sooner!

Why? You will be freed from the hassles of maintaining your home. You will also enjoy the security, companionship and comfort of being surrounded by people who truly care for you.

Still you may have some concerns and we understand. That is why we have asked our residents to help us address them. Please review our list of Frequently Asked Questions and Concerns below and our response to each one of them. It is our goal to help you find the best solution for your personal situation.

Frequently Asked Questions and Concerns

1. Can I afford to move?

It may even cost you less to live in our community than where you currently live, especially if you are paying someone to help with cleaning, yard work and maintenance. Plus, we take care of all the utilities, including cable television, transportation, and daily activities. The only thing not included in your monthly bill is your telephone. If you have a home to sell, you may even be able to live on the interest! We can provide you with the names of realtors, auctioneers, and movers who can help to make your move easier.

2. What if I eventually need more assistance?

Additional assistance is available on-site and can be arranged when ever you need it. Please ask for more details when you call or come in for a tour.

3. Do I have to eat all of the meals?

Three delicious meals are already included in your monthly rent. We anticipate that many of our residents may not eat all three meals every day and we took this into consideration when we determined the rent.

4. Do you require a deposit to hold an apartment?

A $500 deposit is required until move-in at which time another $500 deposit will be due. Once you move-in, these one time community fees will be non-refundable.

5. What if I decide to cancel before I move in?

We understand that circumstances can happen to prevent you from moving in at this time. However, the community fee is refundable prior to move-in. After move-in, the community fee is non-refundable.

6. Do I have to sign a lease?

No. We offer a month to month resident service agreement.

7. Can I have guests for meals?

Absolutely! This is your home. You may have guests at any meal for a small fee. If you are inviting more than 2 guests, please provide 24 hour notice.

8. I don't feel that I am ready to make a change.

Are you too active, too healthy to move to a retirement community? Fabulous! We have a community of active people who like to enjoy themselves without all of the hassles. Wouldn't it be a treat not to plan and cook meals every day? Better yet, you can relish every morsel knowing you aren't the one who has to clean up the kitchen mess!

9. I don't need all of the services you provide.

Needing and enjoying are two different things! Wouldn't it be nice to have someone else dust and vacuum, sanitize the bathroom, even wash and change your linens each week? Our housekeepers are reliable and trustworthy and will keep your home looking lovely!

10. I have so many things to get rid of!

You have enjoyed so many beautiful things over the years so why not keep your favorite items to display in your new home and let your family enjoy the rest. When you visit them, you'll see how your children, nieces and nephews, even your grandchildren derive joy from them as much as you did.

11. It's hard to leave home with so many memories.

It is understandable that people want to stay close to their memories. But memories are held in you heart and will be with you always, where ever you make your home. You can create new memories when you join our family. With special activities, outings, celebrations, and more, you will feel the warmth and friendship of our community every day!

12. I don't know if I can live someplace smaller.

Living in our community is somewhat like living in a mansion. In addition to your private apartment home, you can spend your time with friends or in solitude in the library, lounge, activities room, TV lounge, dining room, and more.
